Invisalign is a discreet system used to straighten your smile with clear aligner trays. These are clear plastic aligner trays which are worn for 20-22 hours each day. This allows the aligners to gradually shift the teeth into their desired position. How might wearing Invisalign aligners affect your smile? Let’s take a look!
— Cleaning: Cleaning your chompers with Invisalign couldn’t be easier! Without brackets and wires for you to clean, you simply remove the aligners and clean your teeth as usual. This means brushing and flossing as usual to prevent tooth decay and gum disease. Not only is cleaning your smile easy with Invisalign but so is cleaning the aligners. Remove the trays and brush them gently with a soft-bristled toothbrush. Rinse in warm water, and you are good to go! You can also clean them with an Invisalign cleaning kit.
— Eating: Since you remove the aligners to eat, you can still enjoy your all of your favorite foods. And you can do that without worrying about food particles and oral debris getting stuck in between brackets and wires, as you would with traditional braces.
— Sports: If you are active in sports, wearing the aligners won’t cut your soft oral tissue as you play. And if your sports participation requires wearing a mouthguard, just remove the aligners while you wear your mouth guard. Just be sure to put the aligners back in as soon as you can to make sure you are wearing them 20-22 hours a day.
— Bedtime: Wearing Invisalign trays means you just clean your teeth and your aligners and you are ready for bed. Be sure to brush and floss as usual.
