At Kirby Nelson Orthodontics, we have replaced older orthodontic strategies with new and advanced techniques such as the Herbst appliance — an effective tool used by growing patients to correct overbites. With constant gentle pressure, the telescoping arms of the Herbst encourage the jaws to grow into proper alignment. In many cases, the Herbst appliance is used together with braces for optimal results.

The Herbst appliance is incredibly compact and fits completely in the mouth with no outside indicators that the patient is wearing an orthodontic appliance.

Since the appliance is not removable, the patient is no longer responsible for monitoring the amount of time the appliance is worn. Constant and consistent results are achieved with the Herbst appliance.
